We are currently in the middle of a long cold winter here in Melbourne, but the good news that comes with this time of year is that our fresh crop coffees are finally rolling in to our warehouse.

One of the amazing new lots we have secured for you this year comes from the San Carlos community in Costa Rica.

This beautiful lot of coffee is produced from a quiet village just outside of San Marcos, where the surrounding community have dedicated their efforts to see this region grow and build a sustainable way of life for all its inhabitants. The small village of San Carlos recognises the importance of putting family first and this is evident in their construction of a new primary school within the last 5 years. Providing quality education for their children is such an important future investment for San Carlos and also demonstrates to neighbouring regions and villages how growing specialty coffee can provide so much more for the entire community.

This particular lot was processed using the Washed method and has been identified as a variety of coffee from the Arabica family called “Bourbon”.

San Carlos is located at 1450masl and this altitude along with their attention to detail on the picking and processing level of the harvest is why we love the flavour that come from this washed Bourbon.

We hope you enjoy this delicious number with fresh pear, brown sugar, and grilled peach in the cup.

Pick up a bag for home today, available through our web store and onsite at 160 Bay Street, Port Melbourne.
